Summer Practice 2014 Double Back on the Floor!

Summer Practice continues with Rylie working on her Double Back on the Floor. She is getting ready for meet season and has been working hard all summer.

Summer Practice and Woodward Camp Fun! 2014

Rylie is gearing up for another competition season and is busy this summer learning new skills and perfecting learned skills. Here is a sample of her learning a full in at camp Woodward this summer.

2014 Level Nine Regional Championships! Season Best All Around Score!

Rylie 9th overall! Considering her first year level nine starting values were lower,  this is an amazing accomplishment! Rylie had her best ever all around score at this meet at 36.425. The top six plus two alternates (top 8) were placed on the Region Seven National Team. Region Seven competitors were made up of the top six all around scorers from 6 states, NJ, MD, DL, PA, WV, VA  Rylie will now work on learning some higher difficulty level skills for her second year level nine competition season. She is really excited.   Rylie and her friends, Megan and Ashton (her fellow WV regional teammates) found some time to have some beach fun on this trip held in Hampton, Virginia.  Part of the fun of competing is the friends Rylie is making and the places she gets to see.  Great season ending !  

2014 West Virginia All Around, Vault, and Bars Champion!

Rylie wins States and qualifies for regionals!  She went four for four with an all around score of 35.950.  Rylie has added a couple level 10 skills in her level nine routines and showed some of them during this meet.  Rylie has had a wonderful first level nine year and is now practicing for Region 7 Championships held in Hampton, Virginia on April 4th, 2014.  Below is a composite of all four events for this competition. 

Kalahari Meet in Sandusky OH 2014 Gold Medal in Floor!

Rylie rocked the floor event at the Kalahari Meet in Sandusky OH on March 7, 2014.  She not only received first place in her age group, but out of 56 level nine competitors she also placed first.  She scored an all around of 36.2 also scoring a season high on bars at 8.9.  Coach Gary was pleased with her this meet considering she was a bit under the weather and running a slight fever.  Like the true competitor she is, she made it though.  Below are her season high floor with much from the Hunger Games and her Bars event.

Gold Medal in Pittsburgh!

This meet was held at the Sheraton at Station Square in Pittsburgh, PA.  The meet was held in honor of a gymnastics coach who was tragically killed in a car accident.  The meet included a beautiful video memorial and a dance performance in her memory.  When Rylie saw this touching memorial, she turned to us and said, "I'm blessed."  Rylie had a season high score at this meet of 36.275 earning her first place all around.  She also took first in beam and vault, and second in bars and floor.  Enjoy the video of some of her best moments from this meet.  Rylie also has her own You Tube Channel that showcases some of her gymnastics moments. 

Buckeye Classic 2014 Season high scores in Vault and Floor!

Rylie's Level Nine Buckeye Classic meet was another success in the Junior B Division! She once again made the podium placing second in floor with a 9.4 missing first place by only .05. She tied for second place in vault with a 9.2 and placed 4th on bars. Her all around score was impressive at 35.75 earning her a respectable fifth place. The Buckeye Classic meet is held in Columbus, OH and is one of the largest meets in the country. Twenty states and two international countries participated. Gymnasts came from as far as Australia to this USGA sanctioned meet. There were a total of 2700 gymnasts participating in this three day event. Coach Gary has been  pleased with Rylie's performance during her first year as a level nine. Winter traveling is sometimes hectic but we were treated to a beautiful cold snowy sunrise as we traveled home. 2014 Peace Love Meet, Parkersburg, WV 2nd Place All Around!

Rylie bringing home five medals this meet, placing in all events and going four for four. Her overall score 35.8 awarding her the Silver Medal All Around. Her best event this meet was the floor. She scored at 9.3 and second place. Rylie was up against a lot of tough talent this meet including some second and third year level nines. She held her own and finished strong. 2014 Nittany Classic, College Park, PA Rylie Wins First All Around!

Rylie's 2nd Gymnastics Meet was held near Penn State in College Park, PA. She had another successful meet with her highest level nine scores yet. Below is a video composite of all four of her events.
