Regional 2013 Championshps Two Medals!! Season high All Around Score!

Rylie ended her level eight season with a great performance at the Region 7 Championships in Landover, MD. Rylie scored the second highest vault score of 48 competitors, (all the top scorers in their own respective states), Two first place vault scores were tied at 9.5, and Rylie right on their heels with a score of 9.45 missing first place by .05!! Rylie also placed 7th highest in her bar routine with a score of 9.45. Rylie's all around score was a season high for her at 37.025. She has been consistent throughout the year and is quite a cool calm competitor. Rylie works hard practicing four times a week at Aerial Port Gymnastics and is still loving this sport. She hopes to compete in college someday, and at the age of 13, she has plenty of time to perfect her skills and realize her dreams.

javascript:void(0);
Rylie and team were in Parkersburg, West Virginia for the Peace Love Meet. Her team placed second and can be seen in the pictures here having fun on the floor marching in, meeting the judges, and celebrating their second place win. These girls really have fun. On additional team member, Sarah now completes the team for the rest of the year. Rylie took first in beam, bars, vault, and second in floor with first all around. Her score was 36.275. The team is off to Columbus, OH next! Below are some videos of her vaults and bars from this meet. She is doing a pike on her second vault which is increased difficulty. I was unable to edit them due to a technical malfunction so they are uncut.

Rylie takes Gold in Erie, PA!

Rylie's second meet of the competition year was at the Stars and Stripes Meet in Erie, PA. She was first all around, first in beam, second in bars, and third in floor. She even pulled off two decent difficult vaults at the end of the meet in spite of having a knee injury during her vault warm ups. Due to the split ages, only two of her teammates are shown here, Sabrina and Jordan. Her remaining teammate, Jennifer, competed at a later time. Her teammates did well bringing home sixth place out of 15 teams competing, along with a few silver and bronze medals for individual events. All four girls had contributed scores to the team score which takes the highest three individual scores and totals them for all four events. Not bad, girls!! Erie was beautiful. The weather was unusually warm and the lake was relaxing. We stayed at the Sheraton Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center. A long walkway connected the hotel to the convention center and it was beautiful to walk out and see the lake. On the way home, we ended up at Primanti Brothers Restaurant for an excellent sandwich in Grove City, PA Rylie will spend the next few days icing and resting her knee as she and her teammates prepare for her next competition in Butler PA in a couple weeks. Shown below is a video of all four of Rylie's routines in this meet.
