Big Dog Meet with Chelsie Memmel

Rylie is now level five and just finished her first meet of the season, the Big Dog Meet in Charleston WV. Chelsie Memmel was a guest and Rylie got to meet and chat with her. Rylie won First Place All Around and is shown here with a big smile and wearing her medals. She is really excited because Chelsie Memmel signed her Gold Medal. Her team , by the way, did an amazing job. Mountain Magic got second place in the team awards out of 18 teams competing.
Here are two videos of two of Rylie's events. Enjoy!

Mary Lou Retton Visits the Gym

Rylie is always excited when Mary Lou Retton comes to visit. She is Rylie's idol and role model. I only had my phone camera when Mary Lou popped in so the pictures are not great. She is shown here talking with Gary her first coach. She noticed the tumble track and wondered with a smile where was that tumble track 30 years ago when she she was here. Rylie has been so happy training here at Aerial Port. She is always laughing and really looks forward to her practices. Gary is such a good coach. He is great with kids. On Thursdays the moms (and yes grandmom's) check out a Zumba class while the kids are hard at work in the gym. The last picture is of Rylie clowning around with onion rings after practice.

Rylie and Team getting ready for Competition Season!

The girls really have a great time together. They participated in WVU clinic in August. Rylie and her team practice 4 days a week now and never seem to get tired of it. They even stay after practice to get in a little tumble track fun. First meet will be in November. Stay tuned for all the fun!

Rylie and Mary Lou Retton

Rylie is now training at Mary Lou Retton's first gym, Aerial Port in Fairmont, WV. Mary Lou stops by with her kids to practice every now and then and Rylie was able to meet her. Marylou was so nice and permitted Stacy to snap this picture of her with Rylie. Rylie loved practicing with Marylou's kids and their team is planning to do an exhibition for her this week. The exhibition will end with participation in a Fourth of July Parade with Mary Lou in Fairmont. Rylie is really having serious fun these days with her gymnastics.

Silver Medal in West Virginia State Competition!!!

Rylie received second place honors in the Final Competition of the Season, the WV State Competition. She did her personal best overall score ever of 37.925 and went four for four. Four for four simply means that on all four events, the bars, beam, vault, and floor, Rylie made it through with no falls or major deductions. We are so proud of her. Her next step in her gymnastics journey is to travel to Fairmont where she plans to begin training in Mary Lou Retton's first gym, Aerial Port. She is excited to make this move along with her teammate Adrian and is looking forward to learning new skills as she advances now to level five. Her level four season was such a success and we are so proud of her! She really loves this sport and is so fit and healthy.Below is a short video of Rylie at the Mountaineer Classic Competition in 2007. She just looks like a real princess out there!

Rylie's Gymnastics Blog is Born!

Competition Season 2007 has begun. Now that Rylie has entered the world of Gymnastics Competition, this blog will be a place to chronicle these events and the accomplishments of Rylie and her team. I plan to include some of the earlier moments when Rylie first began along with her progress now as a Level 4 Team Member. Her teammates are wonderful girls and with their permission, this site will show off their talents as well. Plans for videos, pictures, polls, and an opportunity to comment and/or chat are in the works. This should be an exciting venture. Check back often as I plan to update this frequently. Shown here are Amanda, Adrian, and Rylie after winning First Place Team and First Individual All around Gold Medals in there respective age groups. Rylie is 7, Amanda is 8, and Adrian is 9. These girls make quite a team!
